Our programs for students teach both introductory and advanced research skills, as well as the structured, software-supported management of research results. These courses, largely integrated into the training program of the ZKK, are aimed both directly at students and at teaching staff who wish to incorporate subject-specific research training into their courses.
During the orientation weeks (April and October), we organize reading room tours in collaboration with the student councils, which are open to all students.
If you missed these tours or require a specific reading room tour, we are happy to organize additional tours for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 15 participants. If interested, please contact us via the Contact & Appointment Request form.
Our video tutorial (in German) explains the fundamentals of library use in simple, step-by-step instructions.
Efficiently researching academic information is a central key skill for a successful degree. In this course, we teach you through practical exercises how to quickly and effectively access quality-verified information for your academic work. We introduce both library-based and external research tools to support your work.
For all events, registration via Stud.IP is required. We offer both in-person and online seminars.

Reference management software can be an invaluable aid when collecting and analyzing literature. For Windows users, we recommend Citavi (available free of charge for members of the University); for Mac or Linux users, we suggest Zotero (freeware).

Tailored to individual disciplines and courses (tutorials, seminars, lectures), we are pleased to offer instructors subject-specific training sessions. These library courses are organized in consultation with you, either as stand-alone sessions parallel to your course or integrated directly into it. Content is fully adapted to your needs: from introductory sessions on library use to advanced courses on literature searching, database research, or the use of reference management software.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact us via the Contact & Appointment Request form. We will forward your request to the subject librarian responsible for your discipline.
On our subject information pages (in German), you will find an overview of media and information sources relevant to each academic field.
