Special lending for reading room holdings
Currently there is a special loan period for reading room holdings (31 to 99): 14 days loan period, no renewal, more information
Extended loan periods apply to the user groups professors, research assistants, doctoral students, academic support staff and holders of special library cards.

Textbook collection (location code 17)

'Open-access shelves' | Students | The textbook collections include a number of copies of essential textbooks, arranged by subject. Unlike the reading room collection, textbooks can be borrowed for longer periods of time and can also be renewed. Each reading room has its own textbook collection, which contains specialized literature: 17/A-D, F, K-N, R: Central Library, next to the entrance to the reading room (humanities and social science books)

Collection area in the Central Library
- Collect the requested items from the collection area in the Central Library and hand them in to the check-out desk before removing them from the library
- Books are generally ready to be picked up from 11:00 a.m. on the following workday
- Requested items will be shelved in the collection area for a period of one week; items not picked up during that time will be returned to their usual location
- Delivery problems: If the desired item is not in its location, the request is processed again after four days. Please talk to a member staff at the check-out desk in the Central Library if the item still isn't available for collection after five days
- Items you have requested but do not wish to borrow or only need for copying purposes inside the library should be handed back at the check-out or returns desk. Doing so allows other users to get their hands on them sooner

Returning borrowed items
Borrowed items should be returned to the same desk where they were checked out: the reading room desk for the reading room collection; Central Library returns desk for books from the closed stacks and borrowed via interlibrary loan.
All borrowed items, including those borrowed from the University Library and via interlibrary loan, may be returned to the Regional Library, Michaeligasse 11.

All items can be returned by mail. Please send them to the parcels address:

Avoid fines by sending your books back on time, taking into account the time the items will spend in the post (if returning by post).
