Books

Printed monographs in Economics and Business Administration are located in the Economics Reading Room. Their call numbers begin with 40/QB–QY. These items can be borrowed from the circulation desk for two weeks. Older editions and less frequently used books are stored in the closed stacks of the Central Library and can be requested for loan through the Passau Search Portal.

Current issues and volumes of printed journals

Issues of the current year can be found in the journal display cases in the Economics Reading Room under the call numbers 40/QA. Bound volumes are also located in the Economics Reading Room.

The Journal Database provides a combined list of journals in both printed and electronic form that are available at or accessible online through the University of Passau.

E-journals only

An overview of electronic journals in Economics and Business Administration, either freely accessible or licensed for the university network, is provided by the Electronic Journals Library (EZB).

Top Databases:

Business Source Complete is an international database of scholarly articles in economics and business administration. More than 10,000 English-language academic journals are regularly indexed, and for more than 3,800 of these journals, full texts are available in the database. Business Source Complete also contains company information on the 10,000 largest companies worldwide.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, and the University Library provide two terminals in the Economics Reading Room with access to financial market data from LSEG Workspace (formerly Refinitiv Eikon). Members of the university can use these terminals to obtain current market figures and developments when researching topics for their theses or when seeking an overview of financial markets. To use this access, please contact the service desk in the reading room.

The WISO economic literature database is the largest collection of German-language bibliographic references in the economic and social sciences. It indexes German and international publications (including journals, newspapers, and books etc.).

The virtual subject library for Economics and Business Administration, EconBiz, supports research for scholarly information in economics. Users can search for internet resources, online catalogues, full texts, and access information services provided by libraries.

RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 72 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in economics. The heart of the project is a decentralized database of working papers, journal articles and software components. All RePEc material is freely available.
