The University Library and the Bavarian Regional Library Passau have a joint catalogue and operate a joint network. As a result, the Passau catalogue lists the holdings of both the University Library and the Regional Library. Regional Library holdings have shelf marks starting with 'S/'.

The Regional Library also houses the holdings of the Institute of Eastern Bavaria Area Studies (IKON) library. This can be found in the small reading room in the east wing of the building. In the Passau Search Portal, these items have the location code 750 (show all items in the Passau Search Portal) and can be borrowed from the check-out desk of the Regional Library. The loan period for students and residents of Passau and the surrounding area is two weeks; four weeks for University staff.
