To apply for library card

Non-university members can apply for a free library card below.

You can collect your library card one working day after applying, from 10:00 AM onwards at the circulation desk of the Central Library, Innstraße 29. After that, pickup times are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If you cannot make time during the library card pick-up hours, you may write to ubausweise@uni-passau.de to arrange an appointment outside these hours.

Required to pick up the library card

  • Please bring along photographic ID (national ID card or passport). If this does not show your current place of residence, a confirmation of registration is also required.
  • signed declaration on the Telecommunications Act
  • If you are below the age of 18, we additionally require a completed and signed authorisation form from one of your parents or your legal guardian: Declaration of authorisation for minors (German only).

Already registered at a state library?

To be able to use both libraries with the same library card, please enter the number of your Passau State Library user card here. Bring it with you to the University Library for registration.
