You need to log on to InfoGuide with your library user number and password to access the order and account functions (requests, reservations, renewals and interlibrary loan requests) or to do a literature search using one of the workstations in the reading rooms.
Library user number
The user number consists of 11 digits (e.g. 06404612345) and is printed on your library card or student ID (see the section on library cards).
When you log on for the first time, and until you change it, your password is your date of birth written as a four-digit number in the DDMM format. For instance, if 22 April is your birthday, your password is 2204.
Change your password
You can change your password in InfoGuide. Passwords consist of 4 to 12 characters; umlauts and special characters are not allowed. To change your password in InfoGuide, navigate to Account > User details and click on the Change password tab.
If you forget your password:
- you can request a password reset in the log-on screen. A new password will be sent to the e-mail address on record
- alternatively, you can ask a member of staff at one of the helpdesks in the Central Library or the Regional Library for a password reset. You will need to show your student ID or library card and a photographic ID (national ID card or passport)
